Beijing

The Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, a leading national cardiovascular center and the world’s largest heart disease center, is renowned for its arrhythmia team led by Professor Yan Yao. This team, one of the earliest cardiac electrophysiology and pacing centers in China, has trained hundreds of arrhythmia specialists under the leadership of pioneers such as Xin Chen, Ruilong Sun, and Fangzheng Wang. Over the past 20 years, Fuwai Hospital has contributed numerous innovative procedures and strategies, including the internationally pioneering zero-fluoroscopy electrophysiology model in 2011, individualized linear ablation for atrial fibrillation, and radical treatments for Brugada syndrome and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. Fuwai Hospital's ongoing innovations have significantly advanced electrophysiology procedures, improving operational efficiency while maintaining international quality control standards.

Despite the rapid spread of arrhythmia interventional treatments in China, the varying levels of proficiency among practitioners remain a concern. To address this, the National Cardiovascular Disease Center, in collaboration with the Asian Heart Rhythm Association (AHRA) and the Beijing Ivy Medical High-End Talent Alliance, is launching the Catheter Ablation Safety Enhancement Training Program (Anxin Project) in 2024. This program will facilitate in-depth exchanges between Fuwai Hospital’s leading practitioners and young domestic electrophysiologists, offering a series of elite training sessions. The program aims to standardize catheter ablation procedures, enhance surgical safety and efficiency, and reduce complications. We warmly welcome physicians passionate about arrhythmia interventions to join us and contribute to the advancement of the electrophysiology field.

Program Highlights

Authoritative Instructors: Learn from top international practitioners with thousands of cases worth of experience who will share their invaluable insights.

Practical Skills: Engage in real-case analysis and closed-door discussions to actively participate and improve your ability to prevent and manage complications.

Continuous Improvement: The program provides a sustainable academic platform for ongoing exchange. Participants will receive free access to AHRA’s online courses and additional opportunities for further learning and interaction through a series of online and offline closed-door training sessions.

Training Content

 • History, current status, and future of electrophysiology
 • Standardized procedures and quality control in radiofrequency ablation
 • Identification, prevention, and management of common complications
 • Analysis and discussion of real cases submitted by trainees

Training Goals

 • Enhance knowledge and skills in catheter ablation
 • Foster deep interaction with leading industry experts
 • Broaden medical perspectives and improve clinical practice capabilities

Eligibility

 • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a title of attending physician or above
 • From a Grade II Class A or higher medical institution
 • Able to attend the full training course
 • Academic experience in cardiovascular medicine and specialized knowledge in arrhythmia     electrophysiology
 • Planning or already independently performing arrhythmia electrophysiology procedures

Special Benefits

In 2024, three exclusive Anxin Project meetings will be held nationwide, each limited to 30 participants. These meetings will feature case discussion sessions focused on addressing trainees' practical issues and challenges. Trainees who submit relevant cases and are selected for presentation will have the opportunity to visit and learn at Fuwai Hospital. Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate from the Asian Heart Rhythm Association.

We look forward to your participation in the Anxin Project, working together to contribute to the development of the electrophysiology field!
